The baked chapathi

One woman baked chapatis for family members and she prepared extra chapatis for the hungry. She put it on the window sill, hoping someone would take it.

A man came up to carry the chapati she had made. Instead of thanking him, he uttered the following words as he left.

"The evil that you do is with you, and the good that you do will return to you." Every day the hill man would come and take the chapati and say, "The evil you do is with you, and the good you do will come with you."

The woman who heard this every day could not control her anger. "Does not this man know how to express the least gratitude?"

"Every day this man says those words like he's casting a spell. What do you think?

Her hand trembled as she prepared to mix the poison into the bread she had made for him and place it on the window sill. "What am I doing here?" She said immediately. She immediately threw the chapati into the fire. Another was prepared and placed on the window sill.

As usual, the man came and took the chapati and muttered, "The evil you do is in you: the good you do will come back to you."

The woman, unaware of the man's words, placed chapatis on the window sill every day and prayed for her son, who had gone to a distant land in search of good fortune. For months she had not heard of him, but she prayed for him.

Later that evening she heard a knock on the door. As she opened it, she saw her son standing in the doorway. She was surprised to see it. He was skinny and his clothes were torn. He was hungry and very weak. He saw his mother

"Mom, it's amazing that I'm still here, and when I'm about a mile away, I'm very hungry. He was kind enough to give me a chapati.

"This is what I eat every day. I will give it to you today because your need is greater than my need."

Mother's face went pale when she heard those words. She tried to lean against the door for help. Immediately she remembered the chapatis made this morning. She remembered at that moment that if she had not set it on fire, her own son would have eaten it and lost his life. It was then that she realized the importance of the word "the evil you do is in you, and the good you do will return to you."

Do good, do not stop doing good even if you do not appreciate the time.
